Mark Brewer, MA, LMFT, LPCC is owner and operator of WAVE Therapy. The mission of WAVE is in the name; Wisdom, Action, Vision and Encouragement. Mark opened WAVE counseling with the intention of bringing together the very best therapist in North County San Diego/Carlsbad. Mark is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC #46057) and a Licensed Private Clinical Counselor as well. WAVE therapy is conveniently located in Carlsbad, right in the beginning of the Village. He obtained his Bachelor’s from the University of San Diego (USD) and his Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Mark has worked with a couple hundred families in the last 23 years and handled some of the more difficult cases in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego County. Mark currently contracts with Tri City Medical Center Hospital to assist the hospital in completing psychiatric evaluations in the Emergency Room. Mark, his wife, their son and daughter reside in North County San Diego.

Mark’s career counseling comes from direct experience of different careers. He had successful careers in other areas before entering this field. Mark was a Federal Agent for the US Government for over 2 years, studying human behavior to effectively capture and arrest criminals. He worked in the corporate world Downtown Los Angeles for a couple of years, managing and hiring multiple types of employees. Mark worked for a major pharmaceutical firm in San Diego. Mark is certified to give the oldest and most successful career test, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.
