Maggie Rugolo

APCC

My name is Maggie Rugolo and I am an APCC in California. I have experience in helping clients navigate stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-worth/self-esteem, family conflict, grief, relationship issues, trauma and many other human experiences. I have come to believe that people are resilient. I understand that it takes incredible courage and vulnerability to recognize you need support and want to take the first steps towards overcoming whatever may be challenging you. My goal as your therapist is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to express your authentic self, experience the vast range of human emotions, share your story and learn more about yourself and your goals. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, I am here to empower and support you as you navigate this next chapter.

My therapeutic focus is based on a client-centered model, meaning I focus on your needs and wants for therapy, meeting you where you are and walking alongside you with compassion as you identify and work towards your goals. I mold my therapeutic approach to each individual client, pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, and Somatic Therapy to empower you with tools as you work towards your goals. I focus on being person-centered, meaning in our first few sessions, we’ll explore what brought you into therapy and then match the evidence based modality to your preferences and goals. With kiddos, I normally lean into child-centered play and expressive art therapy to create a fun, safe environment for them to express themselves authentically and develop a more positive sense of self and others. In my previous work at an intensive eating disorder clinic, I have experience working with mental health conditions including eating disorders, trauma, family conflict, low self-esteem, body dysmorphia, and active and immediate crises and safety concerns. My goal is to create a safe place for individuals from all backgrounds, beliefs, identities, and orientations.

I understand that life is hard. I truly believe that every single person is capable of healing, inner peace, growth and authentic connection. If you are ready to take that next step, I invite you to reach out to schedule a session. I would be honored to walk alongside you on this journey.
