Madeline Lock

AMFT

Hello there! My name is Madeline Lock and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Diego, California. As therapy may be an intimidating endeavor for many, I strive to create a kind, safe, and welcoming environment for my clients to share openly and without fear of judgment.

I received my Master’s of Art in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego and I offer sessions both in-person and over telehealth. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families, especially those who are struggling with communication, relationship dynamics, or intimacy issues. I have experience working with clients struggling with emotion regulation, interpersonal relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ identity, family dynamics, codependency, anxiety, grief, trauma, stabilization, and limiting beliefs.

My main modalities include the Gottman Method, Structural Family Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I utilize these evidence-based practices so that we can do work that is effective, while simultaneously believing that you deserve unique approaches that are tailored to your specific needs and goals. Starting from the first session, we will work together to find what works best for you. My hope is to support and guide you as you explore your own story and learn how to use tools that best serve you.

It is incredibly brave and vulnerable to look inward while in therapy and I would be so honored to work with you through this process!
