Hello there! My name is Julie and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree from Alliant International University. After working for over twenty years as a nurse I made a choice to follow my passion and become a therapist. As a nurse I have been with people through their most painful times in life as well as their triumphant and healing moments. Throughout these years I’ve seen the incredible impact our mental health and relationships can have on our overall physical health and well being. This is what ultimately inspired me to pursue this path.
I come to you with years of nursing experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and experience in this career working with those facing depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, self acceptance, life transitions, identity discovery, anger, and addiction/recovery. I work with teens, individuals, families, LGBTQIA+ and couples (relationship challenges, infidelity, co-parenting, consensual non-monogamy, polyamory). I utilize various methods including Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, meditation, nonviolent communication and much more.
It is my hope to meet you wherever you’re at in life, and truly see you for your experience. I like to work in collaboration and alongside you in a way that honors your wisdom to make decisions that line up with your own values and beliefs. I aim to create safe spaces that are nonjudgmental, curious, and compassionate and that support and guide you.
I feel extremely grateful to be a part of such a wonderful and caring team here at Wave Therapy and sincerely look forward to meeting you!
