About
As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of clinical and leadership experience, including 14 as a clinical supervisor, I view supervision through a systemic, relational, and reflective lens. Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, I strive to maintain awareness of the broader context and relational patterns that shape the therapeutic process.
I view supervision as an intimate, collaborative, and evolving relationship built on mutual trust and respect. My style is collaborative rather than directive, except in situations involving legal or ethical risk, where I provide firmer guidance. Depending on the supervisee’s needs, I fluidly move between roles: teacher, coach, supporter, and mentor. I am transparent about my own process, invite regular feedback, and use humor and self-disclosure to create psychological safety and authenticity. My goal is for supervisees to develop their own clinical voice grounded in ethical and theoretical integrity.
My preferred supervision and therapy models are Solution-Focused and Attachment Based.
Both approaches align with my natural optimism and strength-based philosophy, emphasizing hope, empowerment, and the belief that people are experts in their own lives. In supervision, this translates to identifying supervisees’ strengths, using them as resources, and framing challenges as opportunities for growth. I also integrate reflective practice and parallel process awareness to deepen insight and promote congruence between clinical and supervisory relationships.
