A BIT ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Roshni, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist & Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I was born and raised in India and moved to the United States in 1994. My blended cultural background has ongoingly fostered a deep sensitivity and respect for the rich diversity that exists among all of us. I feel privileged to have the life experience to integrate both Eastern and Western philosophies into my therapeutic work.

My path to becoming a mental health professional was shaped by profound personal losses and a deeply painful journey of grief that followed. These experiences evoked a deep desire in me to find purpose by meaningfully supporting others through losses of their own—because the emotions we feel, no matter who or what we’ve lost, are universal. This calling—to foster connection, resilience, healing, and growth—continues to guide my work.

As part of my self-care, I enjoy hiking, biking, spending time in nature, watching educational or awe-inspiring content, cooking, and listening to music. My Husband and I have been together since 2006 and share our lives with a Chihuahua we enjoy spoiling rotten. We love to travel–and in mid-2025, after nearly two decades of dreaming, we finally set off to fulfil our long-time goal of exploring the world for a few years. As a result, I currently offer sessions exclusively via Teletherapy.

POPULATIONS I WORK WITH

I primarily work with individuals (21 and older), with the critical recognition that we’re all part of larger systems—and that our thoughts, feelings, and responses are shaped by our environments and relationships. As our work unfolds, if it becomes clinically appropriate to involve someone in your sphere—such as a partner, family member, or close friend—I’ll help you understand how that might be beneficial, and together, we’ll explore the best way to approach it.

SPECIALTIES

My Clinical focus includes helping clients facing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, relationship challenges (including infidelity, domestic violence, and divorce), grief and loss of any kind, work-life imbalance, conflict resolution, family discord, illness or injury, life transitions, caregiver stresses, cultural identity concerns, adoption-related issues, and a wide range of other emotionally complex experiences that impact our well-being and quality of life.

MY APPROACH TO TREATMENT

I approach Therapy with a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and holistic lens. My treatment style is integrative, allowing me to tailor my care to your unique needs and preferences. I utilize evidence-based treatment methods including (but not limited to) Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and Rational Emotive Behavior therapies. Additionally, I like to use Depth-Oriented Brief Therapy when appropriate, to foster a deeper sense of awareness and insight, with the intent of promoting meaningful and lasting change.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

I acknowledge that Therapy can feel daunting. Please know that your comfort will always be a priority for me. I’m warm and empathic, and I offer an incredibly safe, authentic, and supportive space. I’ve trained in grief, trauma, and complex emotional patterns through roles at several community agencies and Stanford University’s Faculty Staff Help Center. I’ve worked with clients from highly diverse backgrounds and on a wide range of issues. My culturally-responsive lens allows me to offer personalized care, and my integrative approach allows me to bring clinical depth in my work.

In our time together, we will engage in reflective dialogue to explore the unconscious needs that shape your ways of thinking, feeling, and being. I lead with intention and will evoke expansive ways of thinking, to generate experiential shifts for you. We will strategize on solutions and harness your resources to strengthen your capacity to address obstacles. We will collaborate to achieve transformation and growth, so that you feel empowered to effectively navigate your life’s challenges. It’ll be my honor to help you through in your therapeutic journey, and a privilege to earn your trust along the way. Emotional relief allows for mental clarity, and I will light the path!

With that said, finding the right therapist matters! I welcome you to reach out and schedule a complimentary 15–20 minute phone consultation to see if I’m the right fit for you. You can email me at [email protected], or call me at (949) 710-4001.

RATES AND INSURANCE

I am not accepting insurance at this time. I offer private-pay sessions for greater privacy and personalized care, without the constraints of diagnoses or limits on our sessions. I also intentionally keep a small caseload of 10 clients per week, so that I may give you the attention you deserve. Many clients may be able to receive partial reimbursement for our sessions from their insurance company—check with your provider to ask if this is possible. If their response is ‘Yes’ and you’d like to file a claim, I’ll be happy to furnish you with a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) upon request. I charge $175 for Individuals, and $215 for Couples or Families, for a 50-minute session. Wave Therapy accepts all major credit cards and ACH Bank Transfer. I recognize that Therapy is an investment, and my goal is to ensure that it feels worthwhile and meaningful for you.

AVAILABILITY

I offer Telehealth-only appointments every Fri-Sun, to make care more accessible for all. Please visit my Psychology Today page to see if I’m currently accepting new clients—I keep my availability updated there regularly.
