As human beings, we spend a lot of time looking to bring ourselves fulfillment, happiness, and connection. Sometimes though, we may feel that these are unattainable due to our self-doubts, anxieties, traumas, and fears that tell us that we aren’t deserving of these things. However, I am here to tell you that you are not a sum of your experiences, you are not the core of the issue that plagues you, and you do deserve what we are all striving to attain.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist centered in San Diego, California. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCLA, and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brandman University. I have experience in the community setting working with clients who have difficulties with depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, interpersonal and intrapersonal dysregulation, grief, shame, guilt, and substance abuse. In order to help clients through their journey, I tend to use Narrative Therapy; however, I will often borrow skills that are found within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
I believe that your true strengths lie within, whether they are buried beneath the weight of your pain, or working diligently behind the scenes to get you to where you are today. If you are unsure of where to begin, I am here to help you discover where you truly want to go, and find out the person you want to be. There is a path forward, and this path may look as if there are too many hurdles to climb; but together we can break down each hurdle and use your own strengths to find a way over, underneath, or around. If you feel as if these problem stories are intertwined between those of your partner or family, we can all work together to find shared goals, strengths, and solutions that can bring balance back to your relationships with the power of couple or family therapy. No matter what you are suffering from, your problems do not define you and I can help you to disengage from these problems to rewrite the story of your life, one chapter at a time.
