Hello and welcome! I’m Christiana, Christi if you prefer, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I consider it an act of courage to make a change and if you’re reading this, I want to congratulate you in taking this first (big) step towards the positive growth you’re seeking.
I’m honored to join you in your therapeutic journey by co-creating a space of safety, empathy, and respect. My approach to therapy is strength-based, solution-focused, and meaning-centered. Together, I want to build upon your strengths, grow your sense of self and autonomy, and explore what is most meaningful to you. In short—I want to know what it’s like to be you and I want to celebrate your commitment to yourself, which I know requires a lot of heart. My goal as your therapist is to make you feel seen, heard, and known, where no need goes unaddressed and no feelings are deemed unimportant.
In my practice I have discovered that human connection is the #1 most preventative and profound intervention available to all of us. I believe that while it’s relationships that hurt us it is also relationships that heal us, the therapeutic relationship being especially healing. Whether you have been or are currently experiencing trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss, I’m here to walk with you and provide you with the connection, support, and resources needed to reach your goals.
I utilize a myriad of treatment modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Existentialism, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Family of Origin Therapy. I have experience working with trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem, existential crises, personality disorders, sex and sexuality, intimate partner violence, life changes, and emotional dysregulation. My intention is to be integrative with these modalities in order to tailor treatment to your unique needs and goals. Whatever you may be facing, know that you do not have to face it alone.
I look forward to working together and I thank you in advance for trusting me with your inner world, your vulnerability and courage is truly an inspiration to me.
