Hi, my name is Josiah Reutter, MA, AMFT and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at WAVE Therapy.
Originally, I’m from a small rural farming community in Iowa, but now call Southern California home. After high school, I joined the Navy and spent nine years traveling around the country being stationed at three different locations on both the East and West Coast. Following my military service, I earned my Master’s of Art in Counseling Psychology.
I love people and feel most at home listening and encouraging others while building a therapeutic relationship. Through our work together I hope to help all my clients build resilience, strength, and confidence in all aspects of life. Through modeling healthy, empathetic, and compassionate communication I hope to help my clients acquire the tools needed to live a life of peace throughout every aspect of their lives.
I rely on an integrative approach to therapy, meeting each client wherever they are on their unique journey through life. My therapy practice is informed from a multicultural lens, understanding that all our identities are developed based around the culture we were raised in and the stories we were told about our place in the world. I believe that healing and change are not only possible, but well within our reach!
In my downtime, I love being a dad, reading books from around the world, enjoying the beauty of nature, and making a difference in my community!
