Congratulations on taking the first step into a very rewarding journey. Talking to a therapist about your life challenges can feel intimidating at times but with the right help, you may find that the path toward mental health and wellness can be one of the most gratifying and invigorating journeys that you encounter in life.
My goal as your therapist is to help you build a bridge from your past to your present in a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment. Together, we will work through “the good, the bad, and the ugly” to help you gain resiliency, insight, and relief from your emotional burdens.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#76380) with the BBS in California. I received both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. After graduating, I worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at the Metropolitan Center for Women and Children before moving into the inpatient psychiatric setting. At Beacon Behavioral and River Oaks Hospitals, I worked with adult and geriatric patients struggling with chronic acute mental illnesses and addictions.
Here at Wave Therapy, my focus is individuals (both adult and adolescent), couples, and families on issues related to grief, anxiety, depression, the family life cycle, academic pressures, and a myriad of other stressors that clients may be facing. I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Object Relations, and Motivational Interviewing to accomplish clients’ therapeutic goals. Every client is different and together you and I will find a rhythm in treatment that works for you. It would be a privilege to help support you on your journey to health.
