While life can be filled with beauty and joy, we will all most certainly face major challenges, pain and confusion on our journey. Everyone at times can benefit from support, encouragement and help when those difficult times arrive. We all have the capacity to find our answers, to make our needed changes, to grow and to heal. My personal commitment is to work with you on your goals and unique needs and to draw from evidence based practices to support you. My training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness based stress reduction, mindful self-compassion, solution-focused therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), play therapy, and sand play. It is my practice to tailor my approach to my client’s specific needs.
My practice has included working with adults, adolescents, children and families facing a wide range of challenges. They include struggles with depression and anxiety; traumatic experiences ranging from chronic sexual abuse to terrifying car accidents; grief and loss; parenting difficulties and childhood behavioral issues; self-esteem; gender identity confusion and exploration; as well as major life adjustments and transitions.
